As well as creating a durable area suitable for direct cutting and meat preparation, the walnut butcher’s block also reduces the need to store multiple chopping boards, which can take up precious cupboard space. They also reduce the risk of people cutting directly on the worktop and causing damage when they cannot locate a chopping board.
Walnut wood, like many other timbers, has both straight and curved grain lines, depending on the part of the wood the stave it is taken from. This gives each board an utterly individual look which creates a striking centerpiece when added to your kitchen design. The butcher blocks are not only practical but also charming and emit an abundance of character, which will only improve with age.
We pride ourselves on our exceptional quality and attention to detail, which we are able to achieve due to our many years of experience and the latest machines and technology. The walnut butcher’s blocks are harvested from sustainably sourced timbers and manufactured in the UK and Europe. Using sustainable wood is essential to our customers and us and allows them to make their purchases confidently.
The blocks are finished with a high grade of 150-grit, which gives a smooth surface ready for oiling/sealing. This should be completed before installation. We have an oiling/sealing service available on all worktops, and blocks, to save you time and allow your butcher’s block to be fitted from delivery. It is highly recommended that you use a skilled tradesperson with the correct tools and brackets. Your butcher’s block will last for decades, and a safe, secure fit that will last for years and complement your kitchen design, will help you make the best of your investment and give you peace of mind.
