The island worktops are available in a wide range of timbers, from the traditional oak to the exotic Iroko wood. This allows you to choose the right colours and tones for your particular design and cabinets. The timbers used to create the Island worktops are harvested only from sustainable sources. This is important to us and helps our customers buy confidently, knowing their purchase is not harming the environment.
At wood worktops, we take great pride in using our many years of experience, and expertise, to create quality solid wood worktops using the latest machines and technology. The worktops are manufactured in the UK and Europe to a high 150-grit finish, with square edges and corners, as standard. This process prepares them for oiling/sealing, which should be completed before fitting. We provide an oiling/sealing service to help customers who are short of time or do not have the space for oiling/sealing. You can select this service when you place your order.
The Island worktops are available in full stave and 40mm block stave options. The full stave (planks) run the total length of the island worktop, which shows the flowing lines of the natural wood grain. The 40mm stave island worktops are created by joining blocks of wood with invisible groove joints; this creates a block effect and shows the beautiful grain contrasts of the wood.
To ensure your worktop is installed safely and that you make the most of your investment, we advise using only a qualified tradesperson; fitting is a skilled job that requires the correct tools and brackets.
We use our many years of experience to help and guide you through the buying process. We can advise on the best timbers, designs and services to help you get the best results for your kitchen island when you need it. If you are unsure of the type of wood that will suit your design best, you can take advantage of the free wood sample service.
